Recycling

Suomivalimo’s most important raw material in melting is recycled steel. In addition, all the recycled metal from our own casting process, like runners and feeders, are reused in melting. Most of the sand used in moulding and core-making is re-used several times in the process.

The waste from the foundry production is properly sorted and delivered to further processing. The foundry has an environmental permit for utilizing used foundry sand in earthwork, and sand unsuitable for the foundry process can be reused as construction material in landscaping.
