New owners to Suomivalimo, foundry business continues in Iisalmi, Finland
On 30 June 2016, Iisalmen Valimo Oy signed an agreement to acquire the business operations of Componenta Finland Oy Suomivalimo according to the Letter of Intent signed on 22 April 2016. The company will continue casting of large furan components in the Parkatti industrial area in Iisalmi, Finland.
The new owners of Iisalmen Valimo Oy are Antti Lehtonen (Chairman of the Board), Olli Karhunen (Managing Director), Petri Lyyra (Plant Manager) and Lauri Huuskonen (Technical Specialist). The new owners’ background and long experience in the foundry business and the personnel who continues as existing employees will ensure good possibilities for persistent business development in Iisalmi.
The foundry employs approximately 90 persons and its net sales are some EUR 12 million (2016). The customers are mainly well-known companies in Nordic machine building and wind power industry.
The components produced in the foundry vary from 200 kg to 8 tons with the annual capacity of 12,000 tons. The offering, products and operations of the foundry fulfill the requirements of the quality and environmental management standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and the occupational health and safety standard OHSAS 18001. The quality, safety and environmental management systems are certified and audited.
At the same time with the business transfer the Iisalmi Industrial Park has acquired the foundry real estate in the Parkatti industrial area from Componenta Finland Oy. Suomivalimo has made a long-term rental agreement of the real estate with the Industrial Park.
Suomivalimo’s business operations will be transferred to the new company on 1 July 2016, and cooperation with customers, suppliers and subcontractors etc. will continue unchanged.
When the business operations have totally been transferred to the new company in July - August, the company’s name will be changed to Suomivalimo Oy, when the other company information will stay unchanged.
